C18e is a kind of tail sealing C18 adsorbent packing, which is the most hydrophobic silica based adsorbent. It has excellent retention characteristics for non-polar compounds and most organic compounds. It is the most widely used SPE adsorbent at present. Because C18 has the ability to retain most of the organic substances in the water-soluble matrix, it has the least selectivity, and is often used to treat the samples with many structures or different structures. At the same time, because the c18e packing has no reservation for salt, the c18e column can be used to desalinate some small molecules and some medium-sized molecules instead of the ion exchange column.
